<Coming from Kitaōji Station by Bus>
Bus Route 1, 204, 205, or 206

It takes 6-7 minutes to travel by bus from the Kitaōji Bus Terminal (Blue Platform for Daitoku-ji and Kinkaku-ji) to Kenkun Jinja-mae Bus Stop or Funaokayama Bus Stop.
It takes approximately 13 minutes from Kyoto Station to Kitaōji Subway Station.

It takes approximately 13-14 minutes to travel by bus from the Nishinokyoenmachi Bus Stop (Platform E) to Funaokayama Bus Stop or Kenkun Jinja-mae Bus Stop.
It takes approximately 9 minutes from Kyoto Station to Enmachi Station.

It takes approximately 20-21 minutes to travel by bus from the Demachiyanagieki-mae Bus Stop (Platform C) to Kenkun Jinja-mae Bus Stop or Funaokayama Bus Stop.
It can be difficult to located the proper boarding area at Demachiyanagi Station, so please be careful.

Directions from Kenkun Jinja-mae Bus Stop

Get off at Kenkun Jinja-mae Bus Stop and walk a short distance west along Kitaōji Street. At the intersection you should see a stone signpost for Kenkun Shrine (建勲神社). Turn left and proceed south down Funaoka Higashi-dōri street for three minutes and you should see the shrine’s large torii gate. You will arrive at the shrine after climbing 120 stone steps from the torii gate. Not including traffic light waiting times, it should take approximately 9 minutes to walk from the bus stop.


Head west along Kitaōji Street

Turn left at the Kenkun Jinja-mae intersection

Continue straight for 3 minutes

You’ll see the gate on the right

Directions from Funaokayama Bus Stop

Get off at Funaokayama Bus Stop and walk a short distance east along Kitaōji Street. At the southwest side of the intersection with Imamiya Shrine’s large torii gate you should see a signpost for Kenkun Shrine (建勲神社). When you turn right you should see Mt. Funaoka. Proceed south towards Mt. Funaoka and when you see the path leading up the mountain take the left fork. You will arrive at the shrine after climbing approximately fifty stone steps. Not including traffic light waiting times, it should take approximately 9 minutes to walk from the bus stop.
