Kenkun Street![]() Receiving support from volunteers of local neighborhoods such as Wakamiya Yokochō, Motoisachō, and Myōren-ji Maechō, this marker was erected facing east on the northern side of Kenkun Street, which runs east to west beginning with the Grand Torii Gate in the west. |
Kitaōji Street & Funaoka Higashi Street![]() Erected in June, 1940. Erected in honor of the deity’s transfer back to the shrine after successful renewal of the Cyprus bark roof, this sign marker is placed facing north at the southwest corner of the intersection of Kitaōji Street and the north-to-south running Funaoka Higashi Street in front of the Grand Torii Gate. |

Kuramaguchi Street & Jōfuku-ji Street![]() Erected in July, 1940. Dedicated by the Seishin School District in celebration of the 2,600th year since Emperor Jinmu’s reign, this sign marker is placed facing south at northwest corner of the intersection between Kuramaguchi Street and the long, south-running Jōfuku-ji Street that begins from the southern shrine approach. |
North Side of the Grand Torii Gate![]() Placed on the 380th anniversary of the enshrined deity’s ascension, this marker was dedicated by Head Priest Matsubara Shizuka in commemoration of a 1962 trip to Rome with his wife in which they were able to have an audience with Pope John XXIII. |
